What to see, historical to the San Giacomo Pass
Built from 1929 by the Enel to be able to carry out the dams of Lake Castel and Toggia. As soon as abandoned the evocative conca of Riale the road becomes dirt and becomes a masterpiece of engineering, with reduced slopes, to be confronted by trucks during construction work and back from the harmonious lines complemented by dry arch mulls from which it is possible to immortalize excavations on the tops of the high Formazza and the underlying lake of the Morasco.
What to see, Lake Toggia
We are at quota 2191 mslm, this dam was built in the years 1929-1932 on the Rio Roni, has a length of 199 meters and is 44 meters high.
Focus, Piero Portaluppi-Architect
was one of the most important architects and urbanists of the first half of the ' 900 Italian. Although he has operated predominantly in northern Italy, and in particular for the high bourgeoisie meneghine, he has a real revolution in the way of thinking about the architecture of public and private spaces. Over the course of his career he has carried out projects in a number of areas : not only palaces and residential villas, but also hydroelectric power stations-in which he applied architectural styles more related to historical construction than to industrial-funerary edicts, exhibition pavilions, hotels and much more.

PARCO DELLA MAREMMA – MARINA DI ALBERESE
Partendo da Alberese Paese e percorrendo la ciclabile che porta fino al mare, avremo la possibilità di vedere cavalli e Vacche Maremmane al pascolo, come la possibilità di incontrare volpi e specie di uccelli che nidificano dentro il Parco.
Prima di Arrivare alla spiaggia avrete la possibilità di fare una sosta nell’area ristoro, uno street food per una breve pausa.

This is a route that will allow you to cycle both on paved roads and partly on dirt paths. It is a medium-difficulty route that mostly develops over flat terrain, except for a climb of about 3 kilometers that leads to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boden.
The oasis of Borgo Tenso, Madonna del Boden, and Lake Mergozzo
Starting from the BikeSquare rental in Premosello-Chiovenda, you will cycle towards the Natural Oasis of Bosco Tenso, the ideal place to seek shade from the sun and enjoy the coolness of the forest composed of oaks and chestnut trees, as well as observe birds and the variety of wildlife that inhabits the area. You will continue cycling towards Ornavasso to reach the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boden. Thirsty? You can quench your thirst by filling your water bottle at the fountain from which healing water flows. You can then continue cycling along the Toce cycle path until you reach Mergozzo.
Here, you can ride along the shores of Lake Mergozzo and stop at one of the local establishments in the area.
You will return to Premosello-Chiovenda by retracing the Toce cycle path.

Partiti ci si immette subito sulla pista ciclabile, arrivati a Pescara troviamo alla nostra sinistra il teatro e la relativa pineta d' annunziana seguita dal moderno ponte del mare con vista sulla montagna madre, la Majella. Dopo il porto canale con i sui pescherecci, con le nostre ebike si attraverseremo la parte piu modaiola della riviera pescarese con i sui locali sul mare. Una volta arrivati a Montesilvano si attravesa, sempre rimanendo sulla ciclabile, il fiume Saline per raggiungere Silvi Marina e si entrà in una fresca e profumata pineta, che ci rinfrescherà fino alla riserva marina di Torre del Cerrano con la sua torre di avvistamento circondata da un sistema residuale di dune e la pineta di pini d' aleppo, dove consigliamo un bagno rigenereante. l percorso che dal Lago Maggiore porta a Domodossola costeggia il Toce e attraversa gli storici borghi della Piana del Toce e importanti siti naturalistici.
L'itinerario ha inizio dalla stazione "Verbania-Pallanza" di Fondotoce e offre un ricco susseguirsi di mutevoli paesaggi che nel periodo primaverile esplodono di colori.
Da visitare lungo il percorso: fondotoce.
Il Parco della Memoria e della Pace con l'imponente Monumento in memoria dei quarantatré partigiani fucilati nel ’44, e la Casa della Resistenza.
Il percorso attraversa la Riserva Naturale del Canneto con il suo osservatorio.
Mergozzo e la sua frazione Candoglia dalla cui cava si estrae ancora oggi l’omonimo marmo per la Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano.
Ornavasso. L’itinerario passa in corrispondenza della Falesia del Cannone e raggiunge la Punta di Migiandone dove ha inizio la strada militare che ospita le trincee della Linea Cadorna con il suo Forte di Bara (che volendo è possibile raggiungere in mtb).
Premosello – Chiovenda. L'Oasi Naturale di Bosco Tenso è stata istituita nel 1990 per la salvaguardia dell’ultima porzione di bosco “tensato”, già tutelata nel 1500 in quanto il bosco posto tra il Toce e le coltivazioni salvava queste ultime dalle esondazioni.
Vogogna, annoverato tra i Borghi più belli d'Italia, è stato Capitale dell'Ossola Inferiore e nel suo centro storico si trovano il Castello Visconteo ed il Palazzo Pretorio.
Pieve Vergonte con il Ponte sul fiume Anza che conduce a Piedimulera, dove svetta il torrione di Palazzo Testoni, realizzato probabilmente per avere controllo sulla mulattiera che conduceva in Valle Anzasca.
Villadossola. Fu un importante sito siderurgico per i metalli estratti in Valle Antrona, tanto da portare alla realizzazione, nel 1940, di un intero villaggio per le maestranze della S.A. Metallurgica Ossolana, che resta tutt’oggi un’opera unica nel suo genere.
Domodossola, principale centro della Val D’Ossola, sorge nella piana all’imbocco della Val Bognanco. È stata un importante crocevia di culture e scambi commerciali ed il suo centro storico, anticamente racchiuso tra mura pentagonali, è ricco di monumenti e palazzi storici. Per il rientro si suggerisce di prendere il treno alla stazione di Domodossola per raggiungere la stazione di Verbania – Pallanza.

L’itinerario permette di scoprire senza particolari difficoltà le campagne della pianura tra San Vincenzo e Bolgheri. Si tratta di un "viaggio" tranquillo tra uliveti, vigneti, alberi da frutto e poderi. Oltre a piacevoli tracciati di campagna si pedala lungo due strade di grande pregio paesaggistico: la via Bolgherese, accompagnata e ombreggiata da magnifiche querce secolari, e il monumentale Viale dei Cipressi di carducciana memoria che unisce San Guido e Bolgheri.
Meta dell’itinerario è il piccolo borgo di Bolgheri, simbolo di questo territorio diventato famoso nel mondo per i suoi vini. Una sosta assolutamente esclusiva per visitare l’allevamento privato di cinghiali di cinta senese in una tenuta, visita al borgo di Bolgheri e all’antico cimitero monumentale ottocentesco di Nonna Lucia e sul rientro pranzo a casa del fattore alla scoperta degli antichi sapori toscani.

The second stage of the GTL flattens out towards the Agro Pontino, leaving behind the reliefs of the Alban Hills. Leaving Velletri, we move away from the course of the Appian Way along secondary roads in the countryside dotted with vines, still following the Via Francigena del Sud and the Eurovelo 7 route. Before entering the beautiful village of Giulianello, we skirt the lake of the same name along dirt roads and dirt roads, to avoid the dangerous and busy provincial road not far away. A few more pedal strokes and we are in Cori, where you can visit the wonderful Temple of Hercules. Continuing, the descent towards the expanses and the reclamation canals take us to what were once the fiefdoms of the Caetani family, up to one of the most beautiful gardens in Italy, the Oasis of Ninfa. From here to the Abbey of Valvisciolo, a masterpiece of the Cistercian, the road is short, and a few kilometers further on we can face the climb to the fortress of Sermoneta and stop at the medieval castle of the Caetani family. The last kilometers of the route are all flat, and pass first through the Latina Scalo station, and then arrive in the cradle of Rationalism.

Self-guided ebike tour easy for everybody.
The route starts on the main road, where you bike for a couple of Km on asphalt. After a while you turn left in a wonderful secondary road of Maremma, where you can pass among several "poderi" (the tipical country houses of the area). By e-bike you can easily ride in the nearly-no-traffic road, passing among wheat fields, olives and woods.
You can briefly on the main road again and then get into a bike lane which passes on the new Marina of Scarlino and then brings you to the Natural Reserve.
The road in the natural reserve is a natrual wood road which can be done both by trekking and mountain bike. An e-bike is reccommended if you are not trained, because there are several steep tracks (not difficult, but steep!), which might require you to walk a normal bike.
Visiting Cala Violina by e-bike
They say that the name "Cala Violina" comes from the violin sound you can hear when walking barefoot on the white thin sand. It is inside the natural reserve of Bandite di Scarlino and is famous for its transparent water and beautiful seabed. You can only get here on foot or by horse, bike or ebike.
This beach was awarded by Legambiente as one of the most beautiful eleven beaches in Italy.
You need to reserve the access to Cala Violina (1€/adult). Reserving might be a little tricky if you are not Italian we can try to help you if we can, just write it in the notes!

How to visit Canelli:
The track starts near the Amerio Vincenzo - Ca 'del Nono winery.
The route will take you to the small hamlet of Sant’Antonio, a small hamlet surrounded by a huge expanse of vineyards. From the church of Sant’Antonio Abate, proceed in the direction of Canelli, along a secondary road. Before starting the "descent" you could consider a detour to the famous Torre dei Contini. The Tower, dating back to 1617, delimited the boundaries of the municipality and served as a military lookout.
From here, it is possible to have a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape, glimpsing the perfect meeting between the hills of Monferrato and Langhe.
Continuing the planned route you will arrive in the historic center of Canelli.
The town of Canelli is a small town of about ten thousand inhabitants that rises near the southernmost border of the Monferrato, a few steps from the province of Cuneo.
Canelli is historically divided into two parts: “Il Borgo” and “Villanuova”. The first, further down the valley, is the one that has continued to expand with the passing of time while the second, the oldest Canelli, lies on the slopes of the hill and is still dominated by its castle, actually Castello Gancia. The Borgo and Villanuova are connected by one of the historical elements of Canelli: La Sternia.
In the lower part of the city, down in the Borgo, from Piazza Amedeo D’Aosta you can take Via Giovanni Battista Giuliani. Continuing on this road and then turning onto Via Gioacchino Rossini, you will find yourself in Piazza San Tommaso. Here you will see the Church of San Tommaso on the left, from which the square takes its name, and further to the right the Church of the Annunziata. Between the two religious buildings begins the Sternia, a paved pedestrian street whose current name is via Villanuova.
The Sternia climbs up the hill, crosses the medieval part of the town, reaches Piazza San Leonardo, home to the church of the same name and that of San Rocco (recognizable because it is completely brick). From here the road continues uphill until it reaches the top, at the foot of what is now Castello Gancia.
The track we propose will give you the opportunity to go down this ancient part of the city.
The Castle of Canelli was the protagonist of a rather troubled history. Presumably born at the beginning of the eleventh century, the Canelli Castle originally had the purpose of defending the roads that led from Asti to Savona, essential for merchant traffic.
Subsequently the fortress has witnessed many struggles and battles that have caused repeated destruction and reconstruction, until 1929 when the Castle was purchased by the Gancia family and transformed into a large noble residence. Even today, the castle dominates the town from above and shows the Canellese and visitors its beautiful appearance of an eighteenth-century villa.
Unfortunately, as the private home of the Gancia family, the castle cannot be visited, however, at least one passage is required to admire it from the outside.
Asti Spumante is the symbol of Canelli and with it are also the places where the wine takes shape. The Underground Cathedrals are located in the Borgo and represent, in a certain sense, the buried counterpart of the town. These were recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2014.
We are talking about ancient and incredibly large cellars, where the fine wines of the area are brought to rest and where they develop their peculiarities. The Underground Cathedrals of Canelli belong to four great historic wineries: Bosca, Contratto, Gancia and Coppo. Although in different ways, all 4 companies make their treasures open to the public.
Always starting from Piazza Amedeo D’Aosta, take Via Giovanni Battista Giuliani: here you will meet the Contract and Bosca companies. Continuing in the direction of Corso Libertà you reach the door of the Gancia winery. The Coppo winery, on the other hand, can be found in another area of ​​the Borgo, in via Alba.
Santo Stefano Belbo
Continuing along the track, you will cross the more modern and "industrial" part of Canelli.
A secondary road will take you to the town of Santo Stefano Belbo, making you arrive in the immediate vicinity of the birthplace of Cesare Pavese.
The famous writer Cesare Pavese, born here in 1908 and died in Turin in 1950, dedicated many of his autobiographical writings to his country of origin; the municipality transformed his birthplace into a museum dedicated to his works and youth. Pavese's remains, which remained in the monumental cemetery of Turin in the family tomb from his death until 2002, were transferred to the cemetery of his hometown in the same year.
Crossing the historic center of the town, the track climbs up a narrow hilly road until it reaches the Big Bench of Santo Stefano Belbo from which it is possible to admire a splendid view of the city below.
Continuing along the main road, the track will take you to the splendid Sanctuary of Caffi.
Cassinasco and the Sanctuary of Caffi
Tradition tells that the church was built in memory of the miracle that saw a 13-year-old young woman as protagonist, mute from birth, who saw the Madonna while she was grazing with her flock.
After the vision, the young woman would speak again.
The monument stands majestically in the midst of the surrounding wine landscape and a short stop here is definitely worth it.
Continuing, you will arrive at the town of Cassinasco.
You will find yourself in the blink of an eye in one of the highest municipalities in the province of Asti with its almost 500 meters above sea level.
From here, the route will take you around the Tower of the Old Castle, the only part that survived the sacking and fire of 1615 by the Savoy troops during the Monferrato War of Succession.
From here you will descend again towards the town of Canelli to get to cross the ancient part of San Marzano Oliveto and Moasca.
How to visit Moasca: on the way to home
In the center of the town there is the parish church dedicated to St. Peter and the Town Hall. The parish church dates back to the end of the seventeenth century and has considerable reasons of interest. To the left of the parish church, from the same period, stands the fine little church of San Rocco, in brick, with bell tower and portico, seat of the Battuti brotherhood.
The oldest part of the town, consisting of its Castle, is undoubtedly important.
The currently existing parts of the Moasca castle are what remains of the building built in 1351 as we learn from an enigmatic writing still placed today on the top of the entrance portal. The previous fortification was razed to the ground in 1308, after a long and difficult siege of which neither the origin nor the shape are known.
After a short stop / refreshment in the main square of the town, you can resume the path in the direction of the Ca 'del Nono Winery, from which you started.

By choosing this itinerary, you will use your rented ebike to explore the natural beauty and villages of the Partenio Regional Park in the province of Avellino.
You will be amazed by the magnificence of nature and these small villages, but since Irpinia is a land famous for the quality of its wines, the first part of the ebike excursion will be dedicated to exploring vineyards and some villages with a strong wine vocation, with excellent productions of Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo, the two great DOCG white wines of the province of Avellino.
The second part of the itinerary, which you will cover on your rented ebike, takes you to the foothills of the Partenio Regional Park, a protected area established in 1993. Here, nature takes centre stage. The great thing about ebike tours is that, whenever you want, you can stop to admire a landscape and visit the villages on the slopes of Monte Vallatrone and Montevergine in more detail.
This route is a loop tour starting and finishing at the e-bike rental point located at Ciclostazione Avellino, not far from the station and halfway between the towns of Atripalda and Avellino.
However, if you prefer to start from the Chiusano San Domenico e-bike rental point, add the AB/BA route (16.5 km) to this track to reach the Avellino bike rental point.
You will face an itinerary that does not present any particular difficulties and can therefore be tackled with all types of e-bike hire available: city, trekking and full suspension e-MTB.

The first four kilometres will not be exactly unforgettable, but once you have passed those, we promise you that your e-bike ride will become decidedly more interesting. Once past the village of Picarelli, a tiny hamlet in the municipality of Avellino, the road begins to climb, the traffic noticeably decreases, and the industrial atmosphere gradually gives way to rural landscapes and rolling hills.
The road continues placidly uphill, amid hazelnut groves and vineyards, to the fork for Montefredane. Arriving in the central square of this beautiful village, home of Fiano di Avellino, you will be amazed by the enormity of the space. Here you will easily spot the Town Hall and the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine. Just to the left of the church, you will notice the archway that allows passage under the bell tower. Take that passage to get to the ruins of the Caracciolo Castle, whose construction dates back to the 10th century. If you are lucky and find the gate open, you can admire a spectacular view of the Sabato Valley.
A beautiful downhill country road, with no traffic at all, will delight your legs and your e-bike, leading you without any difficulty to the village of Tufo, the birthplace of the famous DOCG Greco di Tufo white wine, the pride of the entire province of Avellino. The town will reveal itself to your eyes after crossing a small bridge over the Sabato River. When you reach the end of the road, turn right to reach the main square of the village, refill your water bottles at the fountain, and learn more about Tufo by reading the fact sheet.
Continuing your itinerary by pedal-assisted bicycle, you will pass by the ancient sulphur mines, fundamental to the development of Tufo's economy in past centuries (although they are undergoing restoration, at the time of writing this information sheet they are a site that cannot be visited) and return to cross the River Sabato. At the crossroads, turn left and, after 1 km, turn right towards Pannarano / Roccabascerana / Cervinara.
From here on, the second part of your ebike tour in Irpinia begins. In front of you towers the Partenio Regional Park with its wooded mountains. Approximately 15 km almost entirely uphill await you, so be sure to start this section with a good energy reserve in the battery of your rented ebike.
As you grind your way with your pedal-assisted bike, Monte Vallatrone and Montevergine will get closer and closer and nature will become more and more lush. Once you reach the hamlet of Ciardelli, at the crossroads continue on towards Pietrastornina. From now on, the landscape becomes more and more beautiful and you will enjoy beautiful views of the Parthenio Park, but not only... At a certain point, a marvellous panorama will open up on your right, allowing you to see Rocca Bascerana, the Sannio and the majesty of Mount Taburno. Passing here at sunset time, especially in summer, will give you a light and colours that are worth all the effort and effort put in on an ebike.
After getting onto the state road, pedal 3 km more on your e-bike to reach Pietrastornina. The stone spur from which it takes its name and on whose summit the town's castle was located, will be clearly visible to your eyes well before you enter the town. This place is teeming with stories and legends, all to be discovered, perhaps by chatting with the locals.
The next village you will cross on your ebike is Sant'Angelo a Scala, also known as 'the village of the two popes'. Here, in fact, Pope Paul IV was born, and there is a strong cult for Pope Silvester (who is celebrated on 31 December), to whom a small church is dedicated that can be reached via a footpath from which a miraculous water gushes out. According to legend, Pope Silvetro convinced Emperor Constantine to go to Sant'Angelo a Scala to bathe in the miraculous water and thus be cured of leprosy.
From Sant'Angelo a Scala to Summonte you will be right at the foot of the mountain and, in some places, you will almost feel as if you can touch it. The chestnut groves will keep you good company along this 3 km ascent, which is also the last you will face today on your ebike tour.
The Angioina Tower will welcome you to Summonte, recognised as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. So, if you have time, take the opportunity to visit its narrow streets on an e-bike or on foot. From here, numerous trails allow you to explore the Partenio Park by hiking/trekking.
Here the ascent ends and you will quickly reach Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo, famous for its nougat production and for being an obligatory crossing point for the many pilgrims who decide to go to the Montevergine Sanctuary (1,300 metres above sea level) on foot.
A long descent will take you to Mercogliano, with its beautiful avenue lined with centuries-old plane trees, and then down to the city of Avellino, passing completely along Corso Vittorio Emanuele (a pedestrian street where bicycles and ebikes are allowed). After passing through the Manganelli Urban Park, by the time you reach the mural of the famous artist Millo, you will have arrived at Avellino Station, and then in just a few minutes you will reach the ebike rental point located at the Avellino Ciclostazione.
This is where you will end your day in the saddle of the rented pedelecs.
