The heart of the Langa del Barolo

N03 E-biking in the Langhe: a journey of wines, villages & hills

Exploring the Langhe hills by e-bike is an adventure that stimulates all your senses. The gentle succession of vine rows harmonises with the subtle hum of the electric motor, whilst intense aromas of earth and grapes envelop you at every turn. Ancient villages appear on the horizon, inviting you to uncover their age-old secrets. Each pedal stroke brings you closer to the soul of a region where past and future merge, promising an unforgettable experience amidst breathtaking views and authentic flavours.

Novello

Novello, the start and end point of your journey, welcomes you with its understated elegance. Explore the historic centre until you reach the viewpoint near the castle. Here, allow yourself to be captivated by the vista of the surrounding hills, a perfect introduction to the adventure that awaits.

Monforte d'Alba

Monforte d'Alba will amaze you with its impeccably preserved old town. Wander through the winding streets that lead to Piazza Antica Chiesa, the vibrant heart of the village. Don't overlook the Horszowski auditorium, an architectural gem nestled within the ancient urban fabric. Climb to the amphitheatre at the top of the village and admire the panorama from the distinctive purple giant bench.

Barolo

Barolo, home of the renowned wine, deserves an in-depth visit. Explore Falletti Castle and WiMu, an interactive wine museum that narrates the history and culture of local wine. Stroll through the village, stopping for tastings in historic cellars. The museum also offers tailored visits for families and young people, upon reservation.

La Morra

La Morra, nicknamed the "terrace of the Langhe", offers a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the hills and stretching to the Alps. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the historic centre and treat yourself to a break in one of the welcoming local wine bars. Although not accessible by bike, the Barolo Chapel, a contemporary artwork nestled among the vineyards, merits a separate visit.

The Experience

This 37 km e-bike route is suitable for everyone, thanks to electric assistance that eases even the most challenging sections. The self-guided itinerary, supported by the BikeSquare app, allows you to explore freely and at your own pace, fully savouring the magic of the Langhe. From Novello, you'll traverse some of the most picturesque villages in the area, immersing yourself in UNESCO landscapes and the rich food and wine culture that has made this region world-famous. An eco-friendly excursion that combines the pleasure of cycle tourism with the discovery of one of Italy's most prestigious wine territories, accessible to cyclists of all levels.
